Vision Plans

Vision insurance in Washington State is available as a rider on group health insurance plans, some with as few as one employee, as a limited benefit on a few individual/family plans, and as a freestanding plan to groups of 10 or more. Good vision insurance offers access to a large network of providers and encourages preventative eye care. Typically a good plan covers a comprehensive exam at 100% after a $25 or $35 co pay each benefit period, usually one year. Lenses, either for glasses or contacts, are covered up to a certain benefit amount per benefit period. An extensive selection of frames is covered at 100% of approved selections ,every two years. If a PPO network is part of your plan, you will receive higher coverage in the network, but will still be covered if you choose a provider outside the network.
